Formed in 2009 as Soul Crusher and then later as Serpent Sun in Houston TX. The band played gigs and recorded a demo before changing their name to Funeral Shroud. Members that had played in the band under its early names include Devin Chapa (bass, 2009-?) and Cook Gonzales (guitars, 2009-?).
